David is an ecosystem ecologist, focusing on the fate and transport of carbon and nutrients in streams. He holds a BA in Biology from St. Olaf College and PhD from the Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia. He was a postdoctoral researcher in the Stream and River Ecology (STRIVE) lab at The Ohio State University from 2015-2018. He joined the University of Nebraska at Omaha Biology Department in 2018 and serves as the Director of the Environmental Studies Program.
